First things first, let’s make sure you have the right kind of home in mind when you hear “manufactured.” The truth is, today’s prefab homes still suffer from the stigma of “mobile homes” and “trailers.” But what many may not know is that on June 15, 1976, the U.S. Congress passed legislation to establish a federal building code for mobile homes.
